Community Outreach
Serving our neighbors with Christ's love
Called to Serve
Following Jesus' example of compassion and service, we are committed to meeting the practical and spiritual needs of our community. Our outreach efforts reflect God's love in action.
For over a century, Woodrow Gospel Chapel has been actively involved in the Lafleche community, responding to needs with practical help, spiritual support, and genuine care. We believe that faith without action is incomplete, and we strive to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our area.
Our Outreach Initiatives
Community Support
We provide practical assistance to individuals and families facing difficult circumstances. This includes help with basic needs, emotional support, and connecting people with available resources.
Services: Food assistance, clothing, emergency support, referrals to community services
Visitation Ministry
Our visitation teams reach out to homebound individuals, hospital patients, and those in care facilities. These visits bring companionship, prayer, and encouragement to those who may feel isolated.
Focus: Seniors, shut-ins, hospital patients, nursing home residents
Rural Community Care
Understanding the unique challenges of rural life, we support farming families and rural residents through difficult seasons, whether due to weather, economic pressures, or personal hardship.
Support: Prayer, practical help, community connection
Missions Support
We support missionaries and mission organizations working both locally and internationally. Through prayer and financial support, we participate in spreading the Gospel around the world.
Involvement: Prayer support, financial giving, mission awareness
Meal Ministry
When families face illness, loss, or other challenges, our meal ministry provides home-cooked meals. This simple act of service demonstrates care and provides practical relief during difficult times.
For: Families in crisis, new mothers, those recovering from illness
Community Partnerships
We collaborate with other churches and community organizations to maximize our impact and serve more effectively. Together, we can accomplish more than we could alone.
Partners: Local churches, community groups, service organizations
Making a Difference
Over a Century of Service
Since 1910, Woodrow Gospel Chapel has been a consistent presence in the Lafleche community. Through economic booms and busts, through droughts and abundant harvests, through times of peace and times of conflict, our church has remained committed to serving our neighbors.
Our outreach has evolved over the decades to meet changing needs, but the heart remains the same: to demonstrate Christ's love through practical service and genuine care for others.
Community Impact
While we don't seek recognition for our service, we're grateful for the opportunities God gives us to make a positive difference in people's lives. From providing emergency assistance to offering ongoing support, from visiting the lonely to feeding the hungry, we strive to be faithful stewards of the resources and opportunities God provides.
